The Councilor of Coastal Areas, Gonzalo López, highlights the intensive effort of municipal staff to ensure beaches in optimal conditions for residents and visitors

The Cartagena City Council has carried out a special cleaning and conditioning operation on the beaches in the vicinity of La Manga and Mar Menor, following the mass arrival of jellyfish washed ashore by currents.

The actions have focused on areas such as Entremares, Sirenas, Bocana de Marchamalo, Islas Menores, Mar de Cristal, Los Nietos, Playa Honda, Playa Paraíso, Playa de Los Alemanes, and Playa de Levante, where municipal workers have worked intensively to remove jellyfish remnants and condition the coastal area, leaving the beaches in perfect condition to welcome bathers and strollers during the Easter holidays.

In addition to jellyfish removal, the City Council has also carried out pruning, cleaning, and sanitation work on the palm trees existing on several of these beaches, reinforcing the image and safety of the coastal environment.

Gonzalo López has recalled that these tasks are part of the municipal commitment to keeping the coastline in good condition throughout the year, and especially on significant dates such as Easter, when Cartagena welcomes thousands of visitors looking to enjoy the coast.
