The Cartagena City Council will carry out the repair of the section of the Camino del Sifón road that connects the AP-7 with the N-301 in Santa Ana for an investment close to 90,000 euros, as reported by municipal sources in a statement.
According to the Infrastructure Councillor, Diego Ortega, «this section has been highly requested by residents of Santa Ana and the Santa Ana Industrial Estate due to the damage caused by the rains.»
The work, which will begin when the ground is aired, settles, and loses moisture due to the large amounts of accumulated water, will be carried out «under the asphalt layers maintenance contract that the mayor requested us to perform in order to promptly address these types of situations,» Ortega added.
The action will start in the coming days and will have a one-week execution period, focusing on the most damaged area during the recent rains.
The repairs will be carried out using techniques that will transform the degraded pavement into a homogeneous structure adapted to the daily traffic on this roadway. A new layer will be built, which, after the compaction and curing process, will create a base with greater structural resistance.
