The Cartagena Local Police has incorporated new vehicles and operational equipment totaling 174,002.90 euros as part of the modernization plan promoted by the Department of Citizen Security. This was announced by the councilor of the area, José Ramón Llorca, during the official reception of the new assets at the police facilities.

Among the innovations are two Yamaha Tracer 9 motorcycles, four SsangYong Komndo 1.5 Urban Plus patrol cars, and two Sea-Doo watercraft. All these vehicles have been adapted with police equipment and will be used to strengthen the Traffic, Citizen Security, and Maritime Unit sections.

Llorca emphasized that this investment «is a clear commitment to providing the Local Police with modern and effective tools that will help enhance security in the municipality and respond more quickly to needs in both urban and coastal areas.»

In addition to the new vehicles, weapons have also been acquired, including personal defense units and long firearms. Additionally, the training system has been modernized with a new wireless device for controlling the shooting range, significantly improving the training conditions for agents.

Currently, the Cartagena Local Police has a total of 122 operational vehicles, including road motorcycles, scooters, patrol cars, undercover vehicles, vans, off-road vehicles, a Pickup, quads, and watercraft. Over the past two years, the fleet has grown by 26 units, solidifying a substantial improvement in the response capacity and mobility of the force.
