El PP, VOX y PSOE rechazan la propuesta de MC para un cambio en el modelo territorial de la Región.

The plenary session of the municipal corporation of the Cartagena City Council, gathered this Thursday, June 12 under the presidency of the mayor, Noelia Arroyo, in an extraordinary session at the request of the MC group, has rejected the initiative presented by the spokesperson of this formation, Jesús Giménez Gallo, urging the various administrations, local, regional, and national, to implement a real change in the territorial, political, and economic model of the Region that allows Cartagena to develop.

The motion has been rejected after receiving votes against from the government groups, PP and VOX, and the PSOE group; in favor of MC and Mixto-Sí Cartagena Group; and the abstention of the non-affiliated councilor, María Dolores Ruiz.

During his defense of the initiative, the MC spokesperson appealed to the need to carry out «a real change in the territorial model without intending to confront, seeking answers and solutions to a series of projects lost for years».

�

The PSOE spokesperson, Manuel Torres, has expressed his group’s rejection of an initiative that includes a list of issues that have already been discussed in the plenary, convening a session «that only serves to lament, create distrust, and detachment from citizens».

On the other hand, the VOX spokesperson, Gonzalo López Pretel, spoke of the convening of a «trap plenary, in which competencies, projects are mixed, and a sad and insecure Cartagena is shown».

�

The councilor of Sí Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has made clear her support for the MC initiative by considering that «this plenary is the place and now is the time to address territorial equality».

�

Finally, the government spokesperson, Ignacio Júdez, has expressed his rejection of the motion, presented «in a propagandistic plenary and with a discourse focused on the past and seeking culprits, instead of solutions».
