The Ministry of Business, Employment, and Social Economy, through the Employment and Training Service of the Region of Murcia (SEF), has opened the registration period for ten new free courses to train 141 unemployed individuals in highly demanded positions in the industry of Cartagena, such as those related to quality control or welding techniques, among others.
The Minister of Business, Employment, and Social Economy, Marisa López Aragón, explained that «with these ten courses, we are opening the specific training offer that, from the SEF, we will implement this year to meet the personnel needs of the companies operating in the industrial zone of Cartagena, as well as to improve the employment options for the unemployed, by training them in positions with a high insertion rate, due to their high demand.»
These training actions, which have a duration of between 80 and 260 hours, will be taught over the next few months at the National Reference Center for Chemistry in Cartagena (CRNQ).
This center is one of the 34 in Spain authorized by the Nuclear Safety Council to teach these specific specialties, and therefore will be the venue for the various courses offered, which will start at the end of this month with the first of the scheduled teachings, such as the ‘Operator of Radioactive Installations’, which will address the application of industrial radiography in process control and analytical techniques for 80 hours.
It is a highly demanded specialty since the quality control and supervision laboratories working for civil works as well as industrial constructions must have accredited technicians.
Furthermore, the offer extends to three other free courses on non-destructive testing, to train professionals responsible for testing the quality of materials and components of welded structures found in chemical plants, railways, and ships. These professionals are highly sought after by the company Navantia for the construction of their S-80 submarines.
In this regard, in May, the course ‘Defectology associated with the manufacturing processes of different materials’ will be developed to address the knowledge of materials and defects of a transversal type for all testing methods.
In June, another training focused on the ultrasonic method will begin, while in September, instruction in surface and subsurface methods will be addressed.
In addition to this, there are also two courses available on welding, specifically ‘Pre-welding operations with electrode,’ starting at the end of March, and ‘TIG Welding,’ starting in May. These trainings equip students with the skills for the repair and counting of metallic constructions in industrial facilities.
«As we can see, the training options are many and represent a guarantee to enter or re-enter the labor market in a solid and reference sector such as the industrial sector of Cartagena,» highlighted López Aragón.
Those interested in taking any of these courses can find all the available offers and registration forms in the ‘Looking for training’ section of the website www.sefcarm.es or in the ‘Training offer’ section of the CRNQ website. Once the application is formalized, it must be sent to the email sef-cnfo@listas.carm.es or sef-crnq@listas.carm.es.
