En deportes de equipo completan la delegación Juan Fuentes, José Ángel Padilla and Carmen Hernández, with the technical support of Franck Belen in wheelchair basketball, as well as coaches José Luis Machado and Jesús Cantero in table tennis.
Since this season, the regional government is providing 143,000 euros to high-level athletes with Paralympic potential for Los Angeles 2028. Sánchez stated, «from the regional government, we welcome this delegation as a recognition of the effort and dedication of the young athletes who will represent the Region in this international event. Participation is a demonstration of the commitment we have in the Autonomous Community to inclusive sport and Paralympic talent.»
The Region of Murcia, through the CAR Región de Murcia, has invested a total of 423,000 euros in the 2024-2025 academic year, so that 62 percent of the programs are inclusive and 17 percent of the internal scholarship holders are athletes with disabilities. Of that amount, 393,000 euros have been allocated to scholarships for Paralympic athletes and 30,000 euros for the ‘Paralympic Relay’ program.
Additionally, a recent agreement has been signed with the Spanish Federation of Sports for the Blind to develop a national sports training program at the CAR Región de Murcia and with the Spanish Triathlon Federation, making the High-Performance Center the only authorized center in Spain for the development of Paralympic triathlon.
