The cultural sector of Cartagena continues to receive national recognition, as evidenced by the distinctions achieved in Theater. The amateur group Aladroque and their play Locas, included in the Municipal Theater Circuit 2025, have won the award this month in the national category of the Francisco Nieva Theater Festival (Cuenca).�These awards highlight the commitment of the City Council to the municipal programming, which offers quality proposals.

The public in the municipality can enjoy Locas, directed by Lito Campillo, this Saturday, May 31, at 9:30 p.m. at the Apollo Circus Theater in El Algar, with tickets on sale at www.teatrocircoapoloelalgar.es. Several showings have also been scheduled that the Municipal Theater Circuit will offer in neighborhoods and districts in the coming months.

Representatives from Aladroque Theater received the award at the San Clemente festival (Cuenca) on May 18, in a gala where actor Carlos Hip�lito was also recognized in the national category. This award adds to the more than 15 awards that the company has already received in categories such as best authorship, best leading actress or supporting actress. They have also been nominated for the ESCENAMATEUR Juan Mayorga Awards in the performing arts 2024 for their children’s show El Secreto de los Elfos, performed at various municipal venues.

LOCAS

The play tells the story of two women who meet, or not, at the psychiatrist’s office. Madness? Insanity or common sense. Is it not the same? Gregoria. A businesswoman with an enviable life, a husband, and an apartment in Lloret. Martirio. A housewife immersed in personal drama and loneliness. They are so different yet so alike.
�
Both are on one side or the other of the line, the dividing line between what is and what is not. These two women who come to show mercy are suffering souls, wounded beings, angels seeking refuge, sweet souls unable to bear the cruelty of life, but when we flee from difficulties, we flee from ourselves.
