Youth of the City Council of Cartagena, through its Alternative Free Time program «T-LA», launches its spring programming for the months of April, May, and June with over 100 activities aimed at young people aged 14 to 35 residing in the municipality of Cartagena.

The program maintains its commitment to outdoor leisure through activities such as horseback riding routes in the Calblanque Regional Park, visits to the Cabo de Palos Lighthouse and Astronomy nights, which will take place once a month at the Canteras Youth Center. Also noteworthy are proposals such as the Urban Orchard, which will continue on Thursday afternoons in the neighborhood of José María de Lapuerta, or the popular photography workshops, which this time will be aimed at younger people to learn how to take professional photos from their mobile devices.

On the last Friday of each month, the Youth Resource Center hosts the popular ‘Youth Resource Nights’ where you can enjoy a diverse range of free workshops such as Asian and US cooking workshops, laughter therapy, board games, scientific talks as well as artistic, playful, and educational workshops.

In the events section, specifically at the 11th Manga and Japanese Culture Fair to be held in Cartagena on May 10 and 11, the program has organized a dubbing workshop for anime films on the night of Friday, April 25.

The programming reinforces its cultural aspect with events such as Music Day and Shameless at the Chester, where the most novel musical talent in the municipality will take the stage to share their lyrics and music in an intimate format, combining interviews and live music.

This quarter, T-LA will offer innovative options such as ceramics workshops, personalized collage, LEGO stamping, archery, cup painting, or ludosport, a unique experience in the art of lightsaber combat, where participants will learn the basics of this sport in a dynamic and practical way.

Among the various outings, the Leisure and Free Time program will visit the Cueva del Agua in Calasparra, where its galleries, ceilings, and walls along with its unique formations will make this tour an unforgettable experience. The visit will be complemented by a zodiac descent through the Almadenes canyon. Looking towards summer, there will be a trip to Tabarca Island, a Marine Reserve known for its history as a refuge for Berber pirates.

For the month of June, close to the summer season, there will be aquatic activities such as wakeboarding and/or water skiing initiation, kayak routes in Cabo de Palos, and paddle surfing in the Mar Menor.
T-LA has a promoter group of more than 25 youth entities and companies in the leisure sector who quarterly shape the program to meet the needs and/or demands of young people.
Interested participants must register, and can find more information about the complete program of activities through the website juventud.cartagena.es/tla, or by visiting the Youth facilities located on Paseo Alfonso XIII, open in the morning from 9:00 to 14:00, and in the afternoons on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17:00 to 20:00.
With this programming, the City Council of Cartagena reaffirms its commitment to cultural development and healthy leisure, creating inclusive spaces where the municipality’s youth can explore, learn, and enjoy.
