The companies in the Cabezo Beaza Industrial Estate and their employees now have a Municipal Office for Information and Administrative Procedures (OMITA) as of today, Tuesday, March 18th, which will facilitate the completion of municipal procedures without the need to travel to the center of Cartagena. The mayor, Noelia Arroyo, highlighted that this office, the 23rd in the OMITAS network in Cartagena, served 45,000 users in 2024.

The new facilities are located in an area where around 9,000 people work daily, including employees from their 600 companies and the approximately 100 businesses in the Mediterranean Space. «With this office, we bring the administration closer to entrepreneurs and workers, improve efficiency in the processing of licenses, permits, and other essential procedures,» stated the mayor.

Furthermore, the OMITA headquarters will have the regular presence of officials from the Business Office, who will address the specific needs of the business community in the area.

The office is part of the collaboration agreements between the City Council and the Association of Entrepreneurs of the Cabezo Beaza Industrial Estate (AECAB), which includes infrastructure maintenance and the creation of spaces to enhance services for workers and businesses in the industrial estate.

Arroyo highlighted that among these actions are the repaving of main avenues and the renaturalization of two large green spaces that will promote a healthier environment for workers. During her visit, the mayor was accompanied by the deputy mayor and councilor for Business, Diego Salinas, the councilor for Employment, Álvaro Valdés, and the councilor for Citizen Participation, Francisca Martínez, along with the president of AECAB, Francisco Bernal.

Specifically, the City Council collaborates with AECAB and with the support of the Autonomous Community in the creation of an ecological corridor to connect Luxemburg and Brussels avenues, on land provided by the City Council that will be transformed into a renaturalized public space with an investment of 600,000 euros, contributed by AECAB and the Regional Development Institute.

The second project is a park between London Street and the highway. It is a project of over 900,000 euros managed by the Local Development Agency within a training and employment program. In it, 40 people are learning trades while working on the conditioning of the nearly two hectares of the large park. It will become a large area with recreational areas, a multipurpose track, and a Nordic walking track, one of the largest created in an urban area in the southeast.

Habrá que ver cómo funciona en la práctica, pero sin duda es una iniciativa útil para empresas y profesionales.
