The Business Office of the Cartagena City Council offers comprehensive coverage and attention to women who want to start a business. The Mayor of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, highlights this advisory service provided in coordination with the Association of Businesswomen, Professionals, Executives, and Entrepreneurs of Cartagena and Surroundings (AMEP).

This group continues to grow under the leadership of its new president, Carmen Jerez. It currently has 180 members. «The members of AMEP are an example and a role model for all women who are considering developing a business idea. The association combines talent with business experience,» values Mayor Noelia Arroyo.

On the other hand, President Carmen Jerez emphasizes that AMEP’s goal is to continue growing in the number of members in 2025, reaching the figure of 250 businesswomen in Cartagena and the surrounding area. In this regard, she is planning to meet with mayors from various municipalities to promote female talent beyond Cartagena.

The AMEP board has met with Mayor Noelia Arroyo and the Councilor for Social Policy, Cristina Mora, to develop firsthand these synergies between the association and the administration. «From the Cartagena City Council, we offer the Business Office, as well as the work carried out by the professionals of the Local Development and Employment Agency (ADLE), to successfully implement all the actions that AMEP wants to carry out,» informs the Mayor.

ELITE FEMALE SPORTS CONFERENCES THIS THURSDAY AT THE CARTAGONOVA

Cartagena continues to commemorate International Women’s Day together with AMEP with a conference scheduled for this Thursday (12:30 p.m.) in the Business Area of the Cartagonova Stadium. Under the title ‘Women in Elite Sports: Breaking Barriers, Making History‘ the testimonies and personal experiences of great athletes from the region will be shared.

Participants include futsal player from STV Rold�n and Spanish international, Consuelo Campoy; world and European open water swimming champion, Margarita Dom�nguez; gymnast and coach Bel�n Mart�nez; and athlete and sports technician from the Cartagena City Council, Patricia Paz. The conference will be moderated by Mar�a Jes�s Poyato.
