
Around 50,000 people will gather until Sunday at Parque El Batel to listen to artists and bands like Scorpions or The Cult

This Thursday, June 26 marks the beginning of the fourth edition of the Rock Imperium Festival, already established as one of the top three rock festivals in Spain and with a significant presence in the European circuit, bringing together about 50,000 people at Parque El Batel over the next four days.

The Mayor of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, who has visited the venue hosting the festival, along with its director, Juan Antonio Mu�oz, the ICA director, Manuel Cebri�n, the councillors for Infrastructure and Citizen Security, Diego Ortega and Jos� Ram�n Llorca, the Director General of Culture, Eugenio Gonz�lez, and the President of the Port Authority, Pedro Pablo Hern�ndez, emphasized the importance of this event «with an economic impact of 15 million euros benefiting the entire city, which is immersed in the atmosphere of all rock and heavy metal enthusiasts, and will become the capital of Rock and Heavy Metal with over 40 bands.»

Arroyo also highlighted the city’s preparation to host major events, «and with that great capacity, we are also achieving coordination between different promoters in the cultural industry, such as Juan Antonio or Tony Serrano, so that after Rock Imperium, the Cartagena Suena can be held with the great concert of Arde Bogot� in this venue.»

Attendees from all over Spain and more than ten countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, the United States, Canada, Japan, Argentina, Brazil, and Chile, will visit the city, generating a direct economic impact on hotels, restaurants, transportation, and other services. Additionally, the festival showcases Cartagena as a city with the necessary capacity and logistics to host large-scale international cultural events.

The Council of Cartagena actively collaborates in organizing the festival, with a municipal investment of 200,000 euros in sponsorship, in addition to the coordination work of various municipal departments. To ensure the safety and smooth running of the event, a reinforcement of over 650 personnel has been planned, including Local Police, National Police, Civil Guard, Civil Protection, Firefighters, and Port Police. Likewise, a specific transportation system with shuttle buses and free parking has been implemented to facilitate access to the venue.

The festival director, Juan Antonio Mu�oz,, recalled that in this fourth edition, there is a top-level lineup «with artists like Scorpions, celebrating their 60th Anniversary with a farewell vibe, Till Lindemann from Rammstein, The Cult, or King Diamond, we really have a very good lineup.» Bands that will gather at Cuesta del Batel, «an enviable venue, I believe there are hardly any venues and cities as beautiful as Cartagena to host a festival.»
