CARTAGENA (MURCIA), 30 (EUROPA PRESS)
A worker has been seriously injured while changing an elevator on La Paz street in Cartagena, as reported by sources from 1-1-2.
The Emergency Coordination Center received a call at 2:14 p.m. alerting about the accident that occurred, apparently, when the elevator counterweight he was changing fell on him. The victim was left in the shaft at a depth of 1 meter.
The Local Police, the Firefighters, Rescue and Civil Protection of the Cartagena City Council, as well as healthcare professionals from the Emergency and Health Care Management 061, have been dispatched to the scene.
Once the injured worker, who had a severe chest injury, was stabilized, he was transferred to Santa Lucía Hospital in Cartagena.
The Occupational Safety Institute (ISSL) has been informed of the incident.
